Kundalini Awakens Zeballos
Airik Alcadinho has a vision of an environmentally friendly retreat. It is to be a healing habitat for kids from different cultures who suffer depression and guilt from rebelling against family heritage while attempting to be more like their friends. Airiks gifted property is in need of healing before he can begin construction, as the lands negative energy is in need of cleansing. Guided by a perceptive Shaman and his own intuition, Airik’s journey to the West Coast Island-town of Zeballos entails conflicts that harm his creation, but enlighten his path to complete his complex project.
I found this book a bit of a struggle. It is written in a pleasant style, for example: "Only the soft sound of their shoes pressing against the damp gravel driveway was heard in the stillness of the night". The description of clothing and furniture is extremely detailed. However, this obsession with material objects seems at odds with the spiritual message of the story. Generally the books seems well researched - there is some interesting history of the Chinese in North America. However, overall it lacks drama.
