Rachel's Windmills
Rachel Goldman a young beautiful transplanted New Yorker practices law in oil rich southeast New Mexico. Her rancher clients enlist the Goldman team to investigate and fight the big oil corporations that have polluted their water wells. Deputy Norm becomes their ally when threats beset violence and a diabolical anti-semite madman uses a horrendous oilfield fire to stop Rachel's quest. Even the corporate supported courts align as the heroine is jailed for contempt and her deputy becomes her man. A brilliant plan is developed to pump the oil from the water wells and The Windmill Oil Company is formed. The challenges the characters face and overcome yields a story rich in suspense, courtroom drama and wild western cowboy fun.
Rachel’s Windmill’s is a legal drama. It tells the story of a lawyer that has a case against oil companies that pollute nearby fields and water, and as a result kill cattle and affect the general well-being of the surrounding area. At the same time, the reader is presented with a parallel romantic story between the main characters and the relationships between their friends. It is not a bad story but the writing is a little bit confusing. At important moments it seems to go too fast and does not give enough detail, and in some situations there are too many details about uninteresting situations.
