Change of Heart by Fran Shaff

"Change of Heart" takes place in 1850s Nebraska. Marietta is traveling from Chicago to Nebraska to collect her orphaned nephew. When a snow storm delays her return trip, she finds herself stranded in an unappealing land ... but with a very appealing rancher.

Editor review:

Change of heart is a love story set in the far west of late nineteenth century USA. Due to a family tragedy Marietta, a city woman, must overcome her disgust of the American hinterland to take care of her nephew. The beginning of the story is quite tragic but little by little all the problems get better and Marietta gets unexpected surprises on her journey that will change her life. It is very romantic and well written, the storyline is simple and to the point. My only complaint is that the book is so short and finishes so abruptly because it is a really enjoyable read.

I normally don't read this genre of book, but, in the case of this book I'm glad I did.

I am hoping there is a sequel about the town they build and the man that Zach becomes. I feel I know these characters.

Thank you.

Comfort food for the mind

Really enjoyed this book. Warm fire curled up on the couch.
Well written, characters have depth. Believable and descriptive
in landscape and events.
